Melisa meccage, Co Founder Chief Performance Officer
Plan My Tour→Zag was co-founded in 2002 by Melisa and Jeremy Meccage. Their experience as athletes, coaches, international travelers, and parents shaped a company built around team growth, cultural learning, competition, and service.
Melisa played field hockey at the University of Iowa, earned First Team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year honors, represented the U.S. at the U21 level, trained with the Senior National Team, and later played in Argentina. Her coaching career included Virginia, Iowa, and 13 years at Princeton, including the 2012 national championship.
Jeremy was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers out of high school, pitched at the University of Iowa, was drafted again, later signed with the Detroit Tigers, and played in Europe. Living in Argentina and Europe helped inspire Zag. He later earned an MBA and coached baseball at Princeton for 10 years.
Kim brings more than 30 years of travel-industry experience, working with international and domestic airlines plus ground transportation partners to coordinate the logistics behind team travel.
Melisa and Jeremy's four children — Bryce, Clara, Cayden, and Miah — are part of the family story behind Zag. Their family life has grown alongside years of coaching, international sport, and travel, which gives the company a personal perspective on what coaches, athletes, and families need from a team tour.
